The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR)
A nonprofit mental health watchdog, responsible for helping to enact more than 180 laws protecting individuals from abusive or coercive practices. CCHR has long fought to restore basic inalienable human rights to the field of mental health, including, but not limited to, full informed consent regarding the medical legitimacy of psychiatric diagnosis, the risks of psychiatric treatments, the right to all available medical alternatives and the right to refuse any treatment considered harmful.

The Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma
A 501(c)(3) organization that condemns violence and oppression in all its forms. We stand with all who work for equality and peace. IVAT is a leading international resource and training center, founded in 1984 as FVSAI and headquartered in San Diego, California with a satellite office in Honolulu, Hawai`i.

IVAT is a one-stop shop to address and end violence. We host 2 international summits annually, house 4 academic journals, provide a wide array of trainings addressing violence, abuse and trauma– many of which can be used toward specialty certificates and continuing education, and offer vital professional and clinical services to San Diego County and beyond. We believe collaboration across systems is key to putting an end to violence and abuse. Every $40 donation received allows us to provide one hour of psychological treatment services to a child, adolescent or adult in San Diego County who has been affected by violence, abuse or trauma.

Fear 2 Freedom

Fear 2 Freedom (F2F) is a non-profit with a mission to help restore hope and dignity to survivors of sexual violence, while empowering students & communities to combat sexual violence. F2F provides programming & education on university campuses and in communities to prevent sexual violence and teach students to be compassionate to survivors. During our program, attendees assemble F2F AfterCare Kits, which have clean clothing, toiletries and therapy tools for survivors and a handwritten note of encouragement and support. We then distribute these kits to hospitals, rape crisis centers, etc to give to survivors after the SANE or PERK exam so they don’t have to leave in hospital gowns or scrubs. Our hands on service learning events are very impactful for both attendees and the survivors who receive these kits.

AACD – American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Charitable Foundation
The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Charitable Foundation’s Give Back a Smile program connects adult survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence who’ve received dental injuries from the abuse with volunteer cosmetic dentists who donate their time and services to restore their smiles. Dental services are available throughout the United States.
